This new Protec2 key replaces the 1920 classic Abloy key (Network Rail key type KG7874) which has been used for a long time for secure track access gates. This is part of a region-wide initiative by Network Rail to improve safety, efficiency and future compatibility of key management systems.
The padlocks are available to all customers, but to be able to purchase the keys you will need to be on Network Rail’s approved customer list. TVS Rail Spares can assist in this process of getting approved. The new part numbers are listed in the table below:
